New York: Shopping

For part one of my New York re-cap, check out what I did to stay active in the Big Apple here

So as planned, I did go a bit crazy with shopping in New York! The exchange rate was good, I had birthday money to spend and I needed to re-stock my workout wardrobe (well that was my excuse)!

I expected to buy a lot in Lululemon, but as it turns out I wasn’t blown away by their products and left every store empty handed. Here are the purchases I made in New York (using website product-shots, as quite frankly they look better than my photos!)

One of the first things I bought was this Thirteen-Point-One running T-Shirt from Oiselle, going to wear this with pride at my next half-marathon…

I loved the range of Under Armour gear in New York stores, much more variety and cheaper than in the UK. I got this loose mesh back T-shirt with matching capris (the colour is much more neon coral in reality).

Then I picked up this sports-bra from Victoria’s Secret to wear under the Under Armour T-Shirt… love the back detail…

Athleta was the favourite store on my trip, owned by Gap, it specialises in women’s sportswear. I found the sales staff really helpful, and the garments to be good quality and a nice fit. I wanted to buy everything, but restrained myself to these capris…

With matching yellow vest (colour is brighter in reality)…

Another pair of printed capris…

To match a vest with reflective trims and zip…

I’ve had my eye on these zig-zag printed Nike leggings for a while, and thankfully they were on sale for half-price!

Another Under Armour vest in neon green…

With another Victoria Secret sports bra to wear underneath…

A basic black vest with back detail also from Victoria Secret…

The Brooks Ghost Trainers I wear usually retail for about £110 in the UK, but I managed to find them for $110 (£65) in New York! Not the most attractive trainers, but they are comfy to run in and support my over-pronating feet…

Of course, I did have to buy some non-running clothing too!
I picked up cheap dress for summer in Forever 21…

I’m loving black/white aztec print so I also got these trousers…

Glen treated me to this Billabong cardi for my birthday, again black/white aztec…

I also got this sweatshirt from a little shop called Nu New York, love the print…

Finally, a beauty purchase! The lovely Kate Somerville Nourish moisturizer, as recommended at my skincare consultation with Caroline Hirons…

We could just about close our suitcases with that little lot! Plus Glen’s purchases (including 3 pairs of Nike trainers)!

Coming up soon- my recaps of our New York sightseeing and food!
