On Friday I attended the Om Yoga Show at Kensington Olympia. It was my first time at this show, and I was interested in finding out more about different styles of yoga and having a bit of a spending spree on yoga kit!
I spent the morning browsing the stalls, there was a huge variety of exhibitors, everything from yoga clothing, DVDs, books, mats, teacher training courses, raw foods and juices. Many of the stands were running competitions to win a break at a yoga retreat, I lost track of how many I entered by the end of the day- fingers cross that I’m lucky on one of them!
The Lululemon stand had some gorgeous tank tops on display and I loved the leopard-print crop tops over at the No Balls stand.
I made a beeline for the Natural Balance Foods stand, to stock up on Nakd Bars and sample the freebies. Nakd Bars are a staple snack for me and Glen, so I bought 32 bars which should keep us going for a while!
I also checked out the Conscious Chocolate stand and tried a few samples of organic raw handmade chocolate, they were delicious and I couldn’t resist coming away with a few bars- Love Potion No.9 and Chili Hot Chocolate.
There was a wide variety of free classes throughout the day, I tried out three of the classes on offer- Mind Body and Breath (a pilates class focusing on connecting movement with the breath), Power Yoga (a series of postures designed to improve strength, balance and flexibility) and Inside Meditation (an introduction to awareness and attention in meditation practice).
Hot Pod Yoga looked interesting and although I didn’t get a chance to get involved in a class, I’ve made a note to check out their pop-up classes around London. Another stand which caught my attention was Boxing Yoga, another class I’d like to check out in future.
