One thing I enjoy about fitness is the sheer variety of different options for getting active. I believe there is something for everyone and getting fit shouldn’t have to be a chore when you find an activity you really enjoy. When I started my fitness journey, I loved the diversity of group classes and I worked my way through the gym’s timetable giving everything a try. Even now, I still love to add a little variety to my workouts when I’m not completely focused on triathlon training.
Next Wednesday, is the ideal time to add some variety to your workout routine. You never know, you might find a new class you absolutely love!
National Fitness Day on 9th September is set to be the most active day of the year, with thousands of clubs, parks and leisure centres opening their doors to welcome you for free. It is the day to celebrate the role that physical activity plays across the UK, with plenty of opportunities and inspiration to get moving. There’s a wide range of classes, challenges and lessons to get involved in.
I had a browse of the National Fitness Day website, and found a few I fancy:
Mountain bike and road cycling sessions at the Lee Valley Velopark
Fitness circuits at the Reebok Sports Club
Beginners running group in Redbridge
Spinergize at Bethnal Green
There are tons more to chose from all over the country, including Zumba, swimming, trampolining, hula hoop, bootcamp, boxing, skipping and rowing! We are getting involved Bikram Yoga Essex and Cycle Rhythm with free classes throughout the day- pop along and join us if you are in the area!
You can find out the activities and events local to you on the National Fitness Day website.
