Marylebone Village Fitness

Discreetly tucked away in elegant Georgian townhouse, Marylebone Village Fitness integrates nutrition, physiotherapy, beauty treatments and fitness in an intimate and inspiring environment.

I was invited along to an open-day at MVF to celebrate their third year of business. Walking into their welcoming reception area, I was greeted by owner Angela who is passionate about providing a personal and flexible service to each client.

The small studio rooms with shabby chic interiors are well equipped with bubblegum pink mats, weights, power-plate machines and TRX suspension straps. Downstairs you’ll find a tranquil treatment room offering waxing, manicures, pedicures and massage.

My first class was a private yoga session with David, focusing on core strength, control and technique. Working one-on-one is a completely different experience from a larger group environment where posture issues can go unnoticed by the instructor. Classes at MVF are bespoke and tailored to achieve each clients personal goals. David talked me through a series of Asanas incorporating spinal twists and inversions, as he corrected my alignment helped me deeper into each pose.

Ending with a blissful savasana under a fleece blanket, this 30 minute class flew past.

Next I was joined by Aristea for a session of mat-based pilates. Targeting the core and lower back, we worked through challenging planks and leg-extensions. We used a pilates ring to add some light resistance to some of the exercises. Aristea noted that my calves and hamstrings were tight from cycling, so tailored the workout to lengthen and stretch these muscles.

After class, I was offered champagne and canapes as I explored more of the studio rooms within the house. I immediately felt much looser and relaxed after my classes, having private tuition was a fantastic experience for strengthening and improving my practice. Both trainers were very professional and focused on helping me get more from my yoga and pilates. I would love to try the power-plate and TRX classes at MVF, as well as some of their beauty treatments.

I was given complimentary classes at MVF, but all opinions are my own.
